Soooooo many! Typical toy race cars are 1/64th scale. Some vehicles that are larger and some that are smaller also work very well with Blu Track®. We’ve seen kids and families have success with lots of different types of vehicles ranging from wooden toy cars to toy school buses to toy tractors to cars built with small blocks. Of course, we highly recommend our long and lean Blu Track® Racers.
Some cars fit best racing in one of the two lanes and others fit best going down the middle of the track. It all depends on the size and design of the car.
NOTE: Most cars from the movie “Cars” will work on any Blu Track,® but the larger versions are too wide for Performance Series track. They work best on our Classic Series.

Unlike most systems with a fixed design, Blu Track® was designed to maximize space in any room – both horizontal AND vertical – for maximum FUN!
Your child can create track designs that turn left and right, go up and down, and follow loops and twists.
We’ve used 24 feet of track in a space as small as 4 feet x 4 feet.
We are proud to say that our tracks, components, and accessories are purchased, manufactured, assembled and packaged right here in the United States.
Only our BluTrack® Racers (cars) are sourced outside the U.S.
See below for lane width by Series:
Blu Track® Series | Lane Width |
---|---|
Classic | 1.65 inches |
Performance (PS) | 1.50 inches |
Edu STEM | 1.50 inches |
All Terrain | 1.65 inches |
Blu Track® is designed to inspire imagination. We like to think about all that could be created rather than all that should be created.
The value (and the fun) in experimenting with Blu Track® designs is mostly in the trial and error. We learn more by fixing designs that don’t work than by being given ones guaranteed to work every time.
You know that sense of achievement and pride you get when you build something that works? That’s the feeling we want to share with Blu Track®!
And if you get stuck, you can always check out our Inspiration Gallery to fuel your creativity.
Method 1: Coil the track in the opposite direction. Leave for a minute or two and then extend track. Start play.
Method 2: Temperature effects the track so if your track has been in the cold for a long period of time it may take extended time to warm up. If you’d like to speed up that process, coil it with rails in and soak the entire track (EXCEPT the hanger pad) in warm water for 2 minutes. This will quickly soften the track for you to start the FUN faster.
Yes, you can! The Blu Track® connector pad attaches tracks together using an adhesive pad (vs. the peg design used by traditional track systems) which you can purchase here. Please keep in mind that once the two tracks are attached it’s important to play, roll and store as one piece. The adhesive is not designed to be used more than once.
Connecting is easy. Simply peel the adhesive backing off, carefully align the two middle rails and ends, stick to the track, and rub to seal tight.
NOTE: Be sure to connect tracks of the same Series (e.g. Classic Series with Classic Series).
Other Options: If you’re looking to extend your track to better suit your needs, please consider checking out other lengths and series of Blu Track®.
Simply wipe down the track with a damp cloth or sponge. If your track ends up with sticky messes, just coil with rails in then soak in the sink or tub with a little household detergent added to warm water – then rinse, dry and get back to your amazing stunt designs!
That’s a wonderful question! And the good news is, no, you absolutely don’t need to have special ramps to have hours of fun with Blu Track®.
Think of all the things you already have around the house. You can get really creative making your own hills and supports for the track. Try using a stack of sturdy books, a shoebox, or even a firm cushion. It’s a great way to use your imagination and see what exciting designs you and your family can come up with together.
Later on, if you decide you want even more ways to build, you could always add ramps. But for now, just enjoy experimenting with what you have – you’ll be amazed at the fantastic tracks you can create.
There are 3 main reasons cars go faster on Blu Track®:
If you are really into physics and engineering the answer is the Brachistochrone curve. For the rest of us, the answer is a natural curve that gives items the fastest descent.
That’s an excellent question. The exciting news is that no, the inserts are not required to begin designing Blu Track® PS races. In fact it is better to get a idea of basic building concepts before adding any inserts. Let the flexibility of the track lead your engineering ideas and discoveries.
When you’re ready to take your track designs to the next level and construct even taller, more challenging stunts, the inserts can then become helpful tools. They provide added stability needed to support the track and help the cars maintain their speed.
You can confidently start building and innovating with the track as is, and then integrate the inserts when you’re aiming to achieve more complex designs.

Most designs can be improved by following three simple rules:
