One Flexible Track. Endless Library Programs.

Custom Blu Track® kits are engineered specifically for:

Shop STEM Education Kits for Libraries

Transform your library patron's curiosity into tactile, hands-on discovery.

Custom Blu Track® kits are engineered specifically for circulating collections, active makerspaces, and community-wide learning spaces.

Powered by gravity and fueled by imagination, this flexible, dual-lane, roll-up race track turns everyday spaces into opportunities for individual and collaborative discovery based STEM exploration.

Plug-and-Play Academic Alignment

Children explore foundational physical science principles without even realizing by creating loops, ramps, and custom target jumps.

Maximum Versatility: One Investment, Five Program Areas

Investing in a Blu Track® collection gives your library a highly versatile asset that works seamlessly across multiple programs and age brackets.

How Libraries Use Blu Track®

Storytime + Play

Pair books with hands-on building challenges inspired by motion, racing, creativity, and discovery.

Community Events

Ideal for family STEM nights, kids’ clubs, play spaces, and interactive learning events.

STEM & Makerspaces

Kids explore gravity, engineering, problem-solving, and design through loops, ramps, jumps, and experiments.

Library of Things

Durable, flexible, and easy to package as STEM or early literacy take-home kits for extended learning at home.

Team-Based Learning

Enhance creativity, communication and shared problem-solving through partner builds and group challenges.

The Institutional Advantage: Engineered for Circulating Collections

Lending non-traditional items requires materials that are resilient, hygienic, and simple for library staff to manage. Blu Track® eliminates the challenges of a “Library of Things” inventory with a design that breaks away from traditional rigid plastic tracks.

Heavy-Duty Track Material

Built from a premium, highly durable flexible polymer. This track withstands repeated rolling, unrolling, and rigorous handling by children while maintaining its shape.

Easy to Clean & Disinfect

Maintenance between loans is simple and efficient. The non-porous, waterproof surface can be instantly wiped down and sanitized using standard library disinfectant wipes or sprays.

No Small Parts

Unlike complex building sets with hundreds of tiny components, Blu Track® features zero small parts. This minimizes the risk of missing pieces upon return, making inventory checks lightning-fast for circulation staff.

Quick Setup and Storage

When a loan returns, simply clean and roll the track right back up. It packs down tightly into a compact footprint, maximizing limited library shelf space.

Proudly Made in the USA

Blu Track® is manufactured to meet high quality standards which ensures long-term reliability and complete institutional compliance for public safety.

Interactive Play Spaces: Theme-Based Exploration Centers

Transform a corner of your children’s room, makerspace, or activity room into an evolving, interactive play space. By changing the theme periodically, you keep the curiosity high and encourage repeat visits.

Every library is unique. These examples show just a few ways Blu Track® can support literacy, STEM learning, creativity, and community engagement.

Construction & Engineering Themes

Over, Under, Through: Structural Design

The Setup: Pair Blu Track® with traditional wooden unit blocks, cardboard boxes, and magnetic tiles.

The Prompt: Challenge young builders to engineer a complex cityscape. Can they prop the track up to run over a block tower, under a cardboard bridge, and through a custom-built tunnel?

The Setup: Provide a bin of clean recyclables (paper towel tubes, cereal boxes, plastic tubs) along with masking tape.

The Prompt: Give everyday waste a second life! Children design and anchor an epic, multi-level rollercoaster track using recycled materials as the scaffolding and structural support.

The Setup: Supply basic wheel-and-axle components, small building bricks, or wooden tinker sets.

The Prompt: Don’t just race cars—build them! Kids engineer their own custom race cars from scratch, testing how changing the wheelbase or body shape affects track performance.

The Setup: Supply practice golf balls, a mini putter, and the track. Gather obstacles like boxes, plastic tubs, or cardboard to create the hole’s challenge.

The Prompt: Can you design a mini golf hole with a clear start and finish? Beginners can start with a straight track on a flat surface. Ready for a challenge? Incorporate boxes and other items to create obstacles and turns!

Observation & Sorting Themes

Vehicles: Gravity & Rolling

The Setup: A simple dual-lane track set at a gentle incline, paired with a diverse tub of standard toy cars.

The Prompt: A pure introduction to physics. Children explore the baseline mechanics of motion: What makes a car go faster? A steeper hill or a bigger push?

The Setup: A collection of vehicles varied in shape, color, wheel count, material (wood vs. plastic vs. die-cast), and weight. A small balance scale is a great addition here.

The Prompt: Encourage data collection and sorting. Kids group cars by attributes (e.g., “all red cars” or “heavy vs. light”) and race them to observe how different design features impact speed and distance.

Literacy & Seasonal Fun Themes

Slide into Some Fun with Storybook Characters

The Setup: Display a rotating selection of popular picture books alongside a basket of small plushies, plastic figures, or building block characters.

The Prompt: Can your favorite book character handle the track? Kids test different friction styles by seeing if non-wheeled characters can slide down the track, experimenting with angles to help them reach the bottom.

Community Connection: Host a “Bring Your Own Toy” test-track day where kids bring a favorite action figure or doll from home to test on the layout.

The Setup: Brightly colored plastic Easter eggs and woven baskets placed at the finish line.

The Prompt: A festive physics challenge! Plastic eggs roll unpredictably due to their asymmetrical shape. Children adjust the track angle and placement to try and get the tumbling eggs to land perfectly inside the target baskets.

Pro-Tip for Library Staff

Keep a small dry-erase board near the play space labeled: “Keep the Curiosity and Interest: Change the Theme!” Use it to announce the weekly theme change, list a simple “Challenge of the Day,” or let kids write down their track’s top speed record!
